Road to Gen Con 2016: Cryptozoic’s Demos and New Titles

Cryptozoic Entertainment is heading to Gen Con which takes place this week August 4-7. Located at Booth #501, Cryptozoic will offer game demos and products for purchase. Members of the Cryptozoic team will also be on hand to answer questions.

Tournaments will be held in Hall D for the following games: Adventure Time Card Wars (including the new 2v2 Doubles Tournament), Epic Spell Wars, as well as Cartoon Network Crossover Crisis and DC Comics Deck-building Games. There will be two new Promo Heroes for the DC Comics Deck-building Game that will be given out to participants. Cryptozoic will have in booth demos at Gen Con of five new titles, which will also be for sale in very limited quantities:

Adventure Time Card Wars: Doubles Tournament – This new game takes the familiar format of Adventure Time Card Wars and doubles up on everything as players compete against one another in teams of two. Winners of the tournament will be rewarded with exclusive Cartoon Network medals.

Internal Affairs – In this code-cracking game, it’s your job to ferret out your foes and learn who is ultimately loyal to whom.

Mad Science Foundation – Fulfill your wildest fantasies of being a mad scientist as you collect insane resources, construct impossible inventions, and press big, red buttons in your personal quest for infamy. Mad Science Foundation creator Sharang Biswas will be at Cryptozoic’s booth throughout the convention demoing the game, answering questions, and signing copies of the game.

Poker Assault –  The classic game of poker you thought you knew has been reimagined as a game of combat. Get ready to craft killer hands, experience decisive moments, and have non-stop fun with  every turn of the cards.

Rick and Morty: Mr. Meeseeks’ Box o’ Fun Dice and Dares Game This new adult dice game based on the hilarious Rick and Morty episode “Meeseeks and Destroy” asks you to complete Requests using dice and the help of Mr. Meeseeks. The longer you take, the more Meeseeks you’ll need to call and the more demeaning Dares you’ll have to do.

Additional Game Demos
In addition to the games mentioned above, there will be a multitude of other games demoed at Cryptozoic’s booth, including The Walking Dead: No Sanctuary, which will complete its successful Kickstarter campaign later today. Click here to check it out. Designers Adam and Brady Sadler will be in the booth 10 a.m.–12 p.m. Thursday through Saturday personally showing off the game and answering questions.

Gen Con attendees can also check out how to play the recently released Rick and Morty: Total Rickall Cooperative Card Game, which has been labeled a “#1 New Release” by Amazon. The game is based on the “Total Rickall” episode of Adult Swim’s Rick and Morty TV series and features the show’s trademark zany sense of humor.

For attendees looking to explore the entire Cartoon Network universe, Cryptozoic will be showing off Cartoon Network Crossover Crisis Deck-Building Game. In this game you play as your favorite heroes from Cartoon Network’s past and present hit shows, including Adventure Time, The Amazing World of Gumball, Clarence, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Dexter’s Laboratory, Johnny Bravo, Regular Show, Samurai Jack, and Steven Universe. Every main deck card is unique and brimming with Cartoon Network fan service.

Finally, there will be a demo of Giant Killer Robots (GKR) at the Weta Workshop booth (#709). GKR combines tabletop miniatures skirmish battles with augmented reality and is being designed by Cryptozoic in partnership with world-builders Weta Workshop and Evolver Studios. . A Kickstarter campaign for the game will be launched later this year.

Mighty Meeples
Cryptozoic will be selling four convention-exclusive packs from their new Mighty Meeples line, featuring 1” wooden figures of classic characters from DC Comics and the original Ghostbusters film. These distinctive figures are highly collectible and can even be used in your favorite board games.
